This self-watering planter pot makes your gardening more enjoyable！It allows you to water your plants once a week or a month instead every day. It can also save your plants from under- or over watering.

When you receive your planter pot, you will find the following items: 3 sets of planters, 3 water level indicators, 4 pcs of coconut soil disks.

Insert the water level indicator to the hole in the inner pot. When adding water into the corner vent of the inner pot, please make sure the white slim tube float between REFILL and FULL shown on the clear tube.

Coconut coir soil disk is made of coconut shell. Each coconut coil disk becomes a 1 quart of fluffy plant soil after being soaked with 0.5 quart (500 ml) of water. This needs to be done before you start planting. It is also recommended to mix some fertilizer to the soaked fiber soil as the fiber soil contains minimal nutrients.

When you first use the self-watering planter pot, you should water your plant every 2 to 3 days to allow the roots to grow. After the roots reach the water reservoir, you can adjust the amount of water by looking at the water level indicator.

3 Cups / 1 quart of African Violet Plant Potting Soil Mix. Soil is packed in a resealable clear poly zip bag. Soil can be stored in the bag as long as its kept dry.

One bag of soil can fill, 10 (2" pots) or 5 (3" pots) or 2 (4" pots). Please note, this is an estimate and the amount may vary slightly, based upon plant stem size and root size. The soil amount will fill an unsealed sandwich sized ziploc bag all the way to the top heaped or a sealed 1 quart size ziploc bag to the top.

Soil contains 50% peat moss & 50% perlite. There are no extra additives to this potting mix and no fertilizers. The perlite (super coarse), provides extra drainage and is chemically inert and sterile. This is a lightweight, airy soil mix. Not dense, compressed or compacted.

To use this mix, make sure to wet the soil completely, mix 1 cup soil with 2 cups water, add water slowly, 1/2 cup at a time, blend with fingers, mix till soil is no longer dry and is moist. Can leave soil + water mix overnight to make sure all the water is absorbed and the soil is moistened properly.* Do not re-pot the plant with dry soil, first moisten the soil mix in a separate container/tray and then use moist soil to re-pot the plant.
